1730 Tartan Neck Tie
Range: Knockando Woolmill
Made from 100% pure new wool, celebrate your Scottish heritage with this tartan tie from Knockando Woolmill. Originally woven in 1730 in pure silk as a “Brides Plaid”, this pattern was discovered in the archive of the Highland Folk Museum in Newtonmore. It is most unusual in that it incorporates 8 colours in a very complex pattern, and would have taken great skill to hand weave over 280 years ago.
