Full Day Weaving Workshop
A full day workshop taking you through setting up a table loom from scratch to finishing with a woven piece of cloth.
Programme:
- Depending on the thickness of the yarn and the type of fabric you are weaving you will need to be able to work out how many threads you will need for each inch of fabric on the loom (epi, ends per inch)
- Selection of warp yarn, strength, “stickiness” plied, type of fibre etc
- How much warp do I need for my project? I will take you through how to find this out. Or if you have a limited amount of yarn how much length of woven cloth can I make?
- Winding your warp onto a warping board, and controlling it!
- Chaining the warp so it can be wound onto the loom.
- Getting the measured warp onto the loom, 2 methods, pros and cons of each.
